Our understanding of ourselves and the world around us is based on the use of concepts. In fact, it is impossible to understand yourself without using concepts related to your identity and personality, as for example student, hard-working, altruist, open-minded, loving or in-love. And you cannot understand the world without concepts like, country, nation, democracy, education, culture, religion, or truth.
Concepts are important. But discussing concepts is often difficult and sometimes dangerous. There are many challenges related to understanding and discussing concepts. In this video, I am putting my fingers on one of them: concepts do not always have the same meaning. One and the same concept might mean different things in different contexts. This is exactly the core of the theory of travelling concepts.
